While searching for some new trail design guides for backwoods/equestrian/hiking/biking trails I came across a resource that has been around for ages.  American Trails (http://americantrails.org/) is a California based organization with the slogan "within 15 minutes of every home and workplace".  If the name didn't give away what they do and stand for then surely the slogan did.  They actively participate in teaching others, especially professionals, about trail design and construction.  They also promote companies that have taken the lead and supported this organization in addition to trail and greenway growth and development.  That's where PLA comes in now...  I donated to this organization and became a member/sponsor.  I am excited to learn form their magazine and the whole list of resources.  I encourage the one or two people reading this blog to check out their website!
